Nigeria urgently needs to transform its Agricultural value chains to ensure food security, reduce poverty, and improve the livelihoods of poor and marginalized groups and this falls within the purview of the FMARD. One major challenge which plagues the agricultural value chains in Nigeria is the existence of knowledge gaps which have led to flip-flopping of policies and the inability to implement best practices by key stakeholders (PwC, 2017).

This training will expose FMARD staff to the complexities within priority values chains which are key to implementing transformational policies and strategies. A better understanding of the challenges and opportunities of the value chain in which staff operates would foster the implementation of world-class best practices in FMARD programs.

In this course you will learn about:

  • Gender gaps in priority value chains
  • FMARD’s role in the agribusiness landscape
  • Overview of Nigerian root & tubers, and grains & cereals landscape
  • Potentials in the local dairy sector
  • Drivers and barriers to sustainable fish farming
  • Urban agriculture

This course curriculum comprises instructor-led videos, PowerPoint slides, and quizzes for each lesson to test your understanding.

A downloadable certificate will be issued to you upon completion of the curriculum and 100% pass mark on all quizzes.
